“The beautiful waterways of Maryland inspired hues of indigo, cerulean, and navy in this colorway. Blue is probably the color we use most in our work, with green as a close second. We mix scales and patterns to make monochromatic color palettes interesting, and there are more than a few in this collection that we have used before. Our dream of a modern, Western Maryland cabin includes heated large format tile floors, deep greens teals, and aubergines, a cool parquet backsplash, and some very fun mosaics. “One of our favorite palettes in this collection began with herons. Perhaps my favorite of the Chesapeake birds, herons are graceful and strong. Their colors surprise me, and I am always excited to catch a glimpse of one. The first time I saw a heron I was collecting sea glass at the beach. This palette speaks to that moment.
A mixture of matte and glossy pastels play off of reflective colors, and a blue cement tile embedded with mother of pearl masquerades as delicate patterned terrazzo. The herons create their own pattern, used as an accent or for a whole wall, their iridescent wings blend perfectly with the rest of our Sea Glass grouping.” – Tiffanni Reidy
